Advanced Protein Analysis for Improved Drug Development

UW-Madison researchers have developed a novel protein footprinting technology that is fast, easy to use and images proteins in their natural, biological state. Their device uses plasma to perform hydroxyl radical footprinting. It tags the outer surface of a protein and allows the user to study its 3-D conformation via mass spectrometry.
