DIRECT ENERGY CONVERTER FOR AXISYMMETRIC MIRROR FUSION REACTOR
WARF: P220103US01

Inventors: Cary Forest, Jan Egedal, Jay Anderson, Jeremiah Kirch, Douglass Endrizzi

The Invention
UW researchers developed an axisymmetric direct energy convertor (DEC) which can harvest the energy from the exhaust of an axisymmetric mirror, thereby increasing its energy gain. The configuration incorporates several novel but easy to implement advances over previous direct convertors and allows for direct control of the plasma rotation via end ring biasing needed for plasma stability
