Department: WARF Therapeutics
Credentials: B.S. Biology, Economics (Santa Clara University); MD, Ph.D. Cancer Biology/Genetics (Mount Sinai School of Medicine); extensive leadership and translational research experience.
Responsibilities: Successfully moves potential new pharmaceuticals from assay development to small animal toxicology studies. Utilizes both existing UW-Madison capabilities and external resources (CROs, CSOs and CMOs) to lower the risk and improve the value proposition of select assets in WARF’s therapeutics portfolio for prospective licensing and commercialization partners. Provides scientific project leadership and expertise in small molecule drug discovery from high-throughput screening to animal proof-of-concept, including compound selection and optimization, bio-analysis, drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics and toxicology with focus on oncology, metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. Works closely with researchers at UW-Madison and professional staff at WARF, together with internal and external resources, to produce late-stage assets. Assistant: Lori Allen
