MADISON, Wis. – With an assist from some Badger stars, kids and families are invited to discover how science shapes performance on and off the field.

“Badger Athletics and the Math of Sports” will be held Saturday, February 3, at the Discovery Building from 10 a.m. to noon. The event is free and open to the public.

Student-athletes from Badgers Give Back will lead participants through dozens of hands-on stations where kids can explore helmet fitting and impact smash simulation, measure their speed at a quickness testing station, and learn much more about fitness and health.

The event is part of Saturday Science, an ongoing program that helps community members connect with science in a casual atmosphere. This free, drop-in program typically is held on the first Saturday of each month at the Discovery Building, 330 N. Orchard St., Madison. The next event on March 3 will explore the science of color.
