The Invention
A UW researcher has developed a novel method for simultaneous T1 and T2 weighted imaging using RF phase modulated 3D gradient echo (GRE) imaging. The novel technique enables encoding the different weighted signal into real and imaginary components of acquired images simultaneously. In addition, the invented technique utilizes gradient echo imaging, which is a fast acquisition method compared to spin echo-based imaging, widely used for conventional weighted imaging.
