SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DIFFUSION MAPPING USING PHASEMODULATED MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING
WARF: P220163US01

Inventors: Daiki Tamada, Scott Reeder

The Invention
UW Researchers have developed a novel MRI diffusion mapping method using phase-based diffusion mapping (PBD.) The technique provides a novel way to measure the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) of tissue by encoding diffusion weighting into the phase of RF-phase modulated GRE signal. The method enables diffusion measurement with smaller gradient amplitude compared to the conventional diffusion-weighted imaging.
