If you’re considering licensing a technology that doesn’t yet have an issued patent or published patent application, but for which a patent application has been filed, you might need a CDA. This would allow you to receive copies of the  a patent application and additional confidential know-how that may be provided by UW-Madison researchers on an as-available basis.  For each technology where a patent has issued, we provide a link to the issued patent through the Technologies Available for Licensing section of our website.

In return for access to this information, you agree to keep confidential the information that isn’t in the public domain. You also agree not to use the confidential information without first obtaining a license.
