The Invention

A UW-Madison researcher has designed an optimized AOSLO system to enable optimized resolution and contrast when imaging different sized pupils. In addition, this design reduces the scale of the system. The optimization takes into account the actual pupil size of the patient and allows the entire area of the deformable mirror array to be used when imaging a pupil of that size, thus ensuring highest resolution and contrast possible, while also minimizing extra computational efforts.
