NEEDLE DRIVER FOR SURGICAL NEEDLES
WARF: P260077US01
Inventors: Seth Dailey, Peter Noonan, Jesse Darley
The Invention
UW-Madison researchers have developed a novel suture needle driver called the INI (Instrument Needle Interface). The INI successfully prevents slippage, needle roll and needle yaw with all types of needle shapes. It is designed to improve safety and reduce surgical time. While the jaws have an entirely new design, they are integrated into a standard needle driver body making them easy for surgeon adoption. The tip is designed to also allow a traditional needle grasp as per surgeon preference.
