The Invention
UW-Madison researchers have developed a well-plate for cell culture that allows the user to finely define the location and temporal profile of multiple gradients including oxygen, nutrients, chemoattracts, or drugs. The device and method enable conducting multi-variable combinational cell culture conditions, allowing the researcher to reverse, remove, or modify the gradient profile at any given moment. The platform includes a plurality of chambers to culture the cells in a 3D tissue.
