The Invention
UW-Madison researchers have developed a novel strain of transgenic mice that expresses human prostate-specific membrane antigen (hPSMA) downstream of a prostate-specific probasin promoter. These mice express hPSMA in the native prostate. hPSMA+ tumors can be implanted into the mice providing a rodent model for hPSMA+ prostate cancer.
