A UW-Madison researcher has developed an induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) line, called Cy0903, from fibroblast cells from a female Cynomolgus Macaque that’s homozygous for the M2 MHC haplotype. The Cy0903 cell line was reprogrammed with combinations of oriP/EBNA1-based episomal vectors, as previously described, and the line has been characterized regarding pluripotent gene expression, morphology, karyotyping, and teratoma formation. In their 2022 publication, the inventor and collaborators reference differentiating the Cy0903 cell line into CD34+CD45+ hematopoietic progenitors (using previous methods) and used them to treat cytopenia after myeloablative hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in a Mauritian cynomolgus macaque nonhuman primate model.
